Well it's been one whole year since Ive blogged. As you can see from my header, we had one big change! We welcomed our sweet baby boy Easton Dale to the family on October 22nd. He weighed 9 lbs 14 ozs and was 22.5 inches long. He is the sweetest little guy, so content and happy all the time. We are so blessed.
Brooklyn is quite the big sister. She loves to help with Easton and she loves to snuggle him. I cant believe how fast she has grown up. I look at Easton and can remember Brooklyn being that small and now here she is, 3 and a half, so smart and so sweet.
This pregnancy was especially special for Kevins family because his sister and her husband found out they were expecting only a few days after I did! And guess what, we had the exact same due date. How fun! I promise, we did not plan that. Emma Grace was born on October 10th, 12 days before Mr Easton. She is so adorable and equally sweet.
Easton has his two month check up on the 31st of December and he weighs 13 lbs 14 ozs. Brook was 19 pounds at her ONE year check up, so we are loving on some chunky baby this time around =)
Here are some pictures from the last couple months, in no particular order..
I havent posted in a while. Ive been so busy with work and family over the Holidays that Ive had like zero time to blog.
Of course I have some pictures so share from Christmas =)
On Christmas Eve, Kevin and I drove up to Seattle to watch the Seahawks play. It was a blast. We have never been to a Seahawks game! We dropped Brook off at Kevins parents house in the morning. We made the 3 hour drive, but first had to stop at Cabelas. Kevin got a few things and I got a blanket for the game. We ate lunch there too. It was actually pretty decent. We both had beer brats. Kev said they are good so I believed him. I honestly asked him if I was going to get drunk from this hot dog. HAHA I seriously dont drink...I know, Im a dork. After Cabelas we went to the game and had a great time.
After the game we drove home. We got home at about 830. Not before having an awesome scare though. If you know the area we live in, our gas light came on while we were entering the Longview Bridge. I told Kev, 'Oh we can make it to Clatskanie'. We did. But every gas station was closed. (By every, I mean 2. Small towns) I said, 'well, we will maybe make it to westport'. We did. Their one gas station was closed. Then we started panicking! I called my dad and he said to drive as far as we could and if we didnt make it to Knappa Market (our small town's 1 gas station) that he would meet up with us and bring us some gas. Well we made it!!! A 45 min drive with the gas light on. We laughed the entire time. It was pretty funny and a good way to end the day, with laughter.
We grabbed Brook from Kevin's parents house and went home. We had some hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. We set out cookies and milk for Santa then we all went to bed. It was a long day.
On Christmas morning we woke up bright and early and opened presents. Brook tore through the paper and loved everything she got. Of course.
After that we went to Kevin's parents house and had Christmas breakfast and opened presents there then, I went to work. Yep, I worked on Christmas day. Hey, someone has to answer 911's right? Anyways, I was scheduled to work from 8am to 6pm but my coworker was gracious enough to work on his own so I could spend the morning with Brook. So I ended up working 10am to 6pm.
After I got off work at 6pm, we went over to my parents house. My mom made a HUGE delicious dinner and then we opened presents....again! After presents we lit some candles and Brooklyn sang happy birthday to Jesus. It was a very special day, even if I did have to work.
Santa brought Brooklyn some of her favotire things. Foofa (the big pink doll) from Yo Gabba Gabba. Of course he brought Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. He also thought Brook might need an easle for her intense coloring habits.
New Years
New Years Eve I also had to work. Surprise, surprise! haha I did get off work at 6pm so I got to spend the night with the family. This is the first year in like 4 years or so that Kev and I have got to spend New Years Eve together. I always end up having to work a night shift and am always working til 2 or 4 in the morning. Not this year though! =)
We had Nick come over with his two boys. We had dinner, clam dip, and alot of fun. His boys are roughly the same age as Brook. Wyatt is 3.5 and Brook and Orrin are about 2.5ISH. Orrin is a couple weeks older than Brook.
Here are the kiddos. We had a wild and crazy night, with ice cream and jumping on the bed. We are some ca-razy people.
Here is an example of the craziness that took place in the Bartlett residence on New years eve.
I did make it til midnight! Woo hoo! I had a nice romantic kiss from the hubby. We are like an old married couple I swear. I did have to work New years day. Im not complainin', Overtime plus holiday pay plus training pay (I was training someone).
I came home from work and was greeted by Kev. He said 'get back into the car, we're going out to dinner'. He took me back into town. We wanted to go to this new Indian place but they were closed so we ended up doing Mexican. It was so nice and thoughtful of him. He's a great guy.
Anyways, that was our end of the year holidays!!! =)
My husband and I are not huge on exchanging gifts on Christmas, we like the focus to be on Brooklyn. Usually we discuss what we'd like and just buy it.
This year, my Christmas gift is..... The new Kindle Fire.
Im more than excited!! =)
I just ordered it and it should be here tomorrow, along with a super adorable sleeve.
Christmas is just around the corner, can you believe it?
Ive been trying to do some activites with Brooklyn since Im not working nearly as much as I have been.
We of course wrote a letter so Santa. Well, I wrote what she told me to write. She even signed it. This will definately be a keepsake. Her little imagination is awesome and the things she asked for are pretty hilarious.
The globs of goo on the paper are her attempt at decorating with glitter gel. I've also learned the proper way to spell pteranodon. Have you heard of Dinosaur Train? Brook loves the show and there is a family of pteranodon dinosaurs on it. It's pronounced ter-an-o-don. So BONUS points for me for even putting the 'P' infront of the 'T'!
We also did a project that I saw somewhere online. You cut up some chunks of hot dog (eww) and stick spaghetti noodles through them. Cook, and you have a fun dinner for the kiddos.
Brooklyn loved the project and gobbled it all down.
We also did a Ginger Bread house. Wow, talk about a disaster fun with a two year old. Most of the candy ended up in a particular toddlers belly, along with a huge amount of frosting. She was feelin' good! haha We had a blast and she loves looking at her finished house. Although, I did let her eat one of the ginger bread cookies for desert last night :o!
Ill leave you with a picture of my lovebug. She can be such a little ham sometimes!!
Now until 4/19 Tiny Prints has some awesome deals on Mother's Days cards!!

Now to explain what happened to me using Tiny Prints.
I signed up for the 'Savvy sender' today. Basically you get the year's membership fee waived and you get 3 free cards. I picked out my 3 cards, went to pay, and was charged full price. I wasnt pleased. I jumped on their 'live chat' and explained my situation and they were so incredibly helpful! She not only refunded me the 3 cards but gave me 3 free cards on top of that!!!! How awesome!
We have two birthdays and 3 mothers day cards to get. So I ordered them all , FREE!, and still have one free one waiting to be used. Their customer service is great. Im very impressed.
Today I realized that working out is a must for me.
Ive been running but its been a week and a day since I last ran. I messed my ankle up and I thought it was healed. Last week I went for a 3 mile run and my ankle pain had returned. So Im taking two weeks off now. Next monday I fully intend on running 4 miles. Since I havent been able to run Ive been really depressed. I feel like if I cant run then Im useless.
Yes, I can do one of the many Jillian Michaels videos but I just feel like I should run. I need to run. I love running....ok I hate running while Im running but overall I do adore running.
Today I went for a walk with my sister in law. We walked four miles. I feel so great now! I have more energy and want to tackle the world. My ankle was tender but it feels basically fine.
Moral of the story, working out is essential for me to feel 'good'. Im going to try to do something everyday even though I cant run....yet.
This week I took apart her crib. I cried. I remember setting her crib up when I was like 7 months pregnant and now she is a toddler, in a big girl bed. It was so incredibly depressing!
Well now Brook is on a queen sized matress, on the floor.
We bought a bed frame for her but we are still waiting for it to be delivered. Im thinking sometime this week. I also got her some super cute bedding, of course! Its green with polka dots.
She has done great in her bed. She doesnt get up and walk around...probably because it's pitch black in her room lol. But she seems to do well.
